The Fourth Dam Gathering of the Tears was held the first weekend in May, 1997 at Lake Shasta, California. As you can see from the pictures below, a good group attended (either 61 or 63 trailers, depending on who you talked to). This was an increase from the 47 who made it last year. The pictures of the activities are posted here, so you can see the "famous" chili pot, some of the "tall tales" tellers, and award recipients. (Look on slides 2 and 3.) We had a great time checkin' out all the trailers, visiting friends old and new, and making plans for more teardrop camping as the summer gets closer.
Grant and Lisa Whipp are the wonderful people who've made all of the "DAM Gatherings of Tears" possible. There's a great picture of Grant stirring the chili pot on the third slide in this series.
Here you go with all the pictures. The first two have teardrop pictures, the final one shows some of the fun to be on Saturday night. The pictures load pretty fast, but there's a bunch, so please bear with it. It's not that bad. There are some great tears and hotrods.
